MARTHA (UNKNOWN), was born in about 1825 in Tennessee. The first record I am able to find on Martha is the marriage record for Vinson A. Tignor and Mrs. Martha Buchanan. After careful consideration it is to be assumed that Martha's maiden name was not Buchanan. Martha was married prior to her marriage to Vinson thus the name Buchanan. This also makes sense when you look at the first census record that Martha and Vinson appear on. In the Nodaway County Missouri 1860 Census we find Vinson Tignor with wife Martha and four children namely Susan 13, William 10, Elizabeth 8, and Anna 3. An even closer look tells us that Susan was born in Illinois, Thomas in Tennessee, Elizabeth in Tennessee and Anna in Missouri. With that information I have put this scenario together. Vinson was married prior to his marriage to Martha. This is supported with a marriage certificate. Susan was born of that marriage. Thomas and Elizabeth are both born in Tennessee and are from Martha's prior marriage to "Buchanan". I am unsure who is Anna's father as she was born on 5 August 1856 just two months after the marriage of Vinson and Martha. Anna would always go by the name of Anna Laura Tignor. While living in Missouri Vinson and Martha would have 3 more children to add to their growing family, John born in 1860, James born in 1863, and Jane born in 1866.
In 1870 we find Vinson, Martha and five of their 6 their children living in Richardson County, Nebraska. It appears as though Vinson was a blacksmith by trade and worked for the Indian Agency.
The 1880 census is the last know location I have for Vinson and Martha. They are living in Agency, Osage, Kansas. Vinson is again employed as a blacksmith for the Indian Agency. Another child by the name of Belle appears on the census with a birth year of  1875.
From here I have been unable to find further records indicating such events as deaths or burials for any these family members.  It seems odd that I am unable to locate any death or burial records for both Vinson and Martha.
